JMN Names New Chief Operating Officer

ST. LOUIS, MO - Touting nearly 20 years of customer service and management experience, Cindy Darnell - former director of business development - is tapped for the position.

Darnell has been with the company since 2005 and has served in positions such as auction sales representative, sales and marketing manager, and director of sales and marketing, before landing her most recent position as director of business development -- and now COO.

Commenting on her promotion, Darnell said, "I am honored to be part of such a dynamic and dedicated team. I look forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead of us and believe JMN is well-positioned to achieve its growth objectives."

Highlighting the new position in more depth, Darnell will be responsible for negotiating and maintaining national accounts, establishing and implementing company policies, reviewing financial statements, sales, and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity, the company noted.

In her new role, she will also continue supporting Jon Nuckolls, JMN's chief executive officer, by focusing on the establishment and optimization of day-to-day operations at JMN, company officials went on to note.

Darnell will also serve as an adviser to the management team on planning issues and make recommendations regarding business decisions.

Additionally, she will be setting operational goals for each department, "which are aggressive, achievable, and tied to the long-term goals for JMN," according to the company.

Company officials also stressed the impact Darnell has made on the business already. With Darnell as a leader, in 2010, the transportation company decided to undertake a major overhaul "to take a more honest and refreshing approach to automobile transportation.

"The much-needed change in the company's operational system has steadily increased profit margins to both the logistics and transportation divisions while providing customers with the competitive rates that they expect and the customer service that they deserve," officials asserted.

Also, after these changes took place, the company saw a record-breaking month this past September for its transportation division.

That said, one of the company's clients added: "Cindy's knowledge of our company and our transportation needs has made her an invaluable resource to Enterprise. We congratulate her on a well-deserved promotion, and we look forward to working with her in her new role," said Michael Bystrom, vice president of remarketing operations for North America at Enterprise.

JMN officials also highlighted what made Darnell the "ideal" candidate for the job.

Nuckolls said of the promotion, "I am pleased to promote a very capable and qualified executive from within our company. I am confident that Cindy has the expertise, knowledge, and enthusiasm to participate in the growth of JMN and to manage the complex financial elements of JMN.

"Cindy has been a major contributor to the successful growth of the company's transportation and logistics divisions, managing numerous issues involved in the large volume of transactions that have occurred over recent years. I am delighted to recognize her expertise and leadership with this promotion," he continued.
